Hello, my name is Andrew Cervantes. I am a student at Cal State Los Angeles (CSULA) majoring in civil engineering.
Academics and Goals
Growing up, I was always interested in how cities and all types of infrastructure were constructed. When I learned that civil engineers are in charge of completing this type of work I knew this was the path I wanted to take.
When I graduate I hope to go into CalTrans or Environmental Engineering. Both of those interest me as I still dive into my major
Some Skills
At the University I have worked closely with the maker space workshop. Here I have learned how to use machinery such as band saws, mills, lathes, and other industrial machinery.
What I hope to learn
Usually, when something breaks at home I will try to fix it on my own. However sometimes an item is most likely replaced, I hope that with Ifixit I can use it to save resources at home and save money on paying for repairs or buying new products.
I would like to also learn handyman skills for freelance jobs.
