Foundations of the Ontology of Emerging Complexity/Preface
Preface – Purpose and Educational Orientation
This book is part of a pedagogical effort to present the foundations of a new philosophical current: the Ontology of Emerging Complexity (OEC).
It is not a manifesto, nor a speculative exercise detached from tradition. It is a structured and educational introduction to a coherent ontological system, designed for gradual development. The full traversal of the ontological fields is presented elsewhere — in the author's main work in Portuguese (travessia.online) — but this volume stands as its conceptual and institutional grounding.
Intended Audience
- Philosophy students and educators; - Researchers in epistemology, complexity theory, and materialist ontology; - Readers interested in symbolic operations, emergence, and non-dualist approaches to matter and thought.
Educational Objectives
- To provide an accessible but rigorous introduction to the key concepts of the OEC; - To situate the proposal in dialogue with philosophical tradition; - To clarify the vocabulary and operative logic behind the symbolic construction of this ontology; - To serve as a companion to the author’s broader philosophical project.
Editorial Note
This book is being developed during a period of open discussion regarding its relevance. Its structure is fixed and coherent; its development will follow that structure strictly, without reformulation. All constructive contributions are welcome.
