Ghouls of the Miskatonic/Chapter 2
Plot
New York's East River Shipyard. Patrick Doyle and Martin Quinn are two shipyard workers who are helping in the construction of the DVC Matilda Rose, a deepwater vessel designed for building offshore drilling platforms. During a break, they casually observe the vessel and notice a strange, unfamiliar object being attached to it.
Back in Arkham, Dr. Vincent Lee arrives at the crime scene to examine the mutilated body found by Rita Young. His preliminary findings reveal bite marks that appear to be human. However, Detective Harden, a veteran police officer, dismisses Dr. Lee's theories. Driven by a desire to maintain public order and suppress panic, Harden refuses to acknowledge the unusual nature of the bite marks and sends the body directly to a funeral home without ordering an autopsy.
Meanwhile, back in his office, Professor Oliver Grayson contacts his old friend, Professor William Hillshore, a psychologist and rehabilitation physician. They briefly catch up, and Grayson discusses Henry Cartwright's case, with Hillshore expressing confidence that he can offer assistance.
Back at the crime scene, journalist Rex Murphy and photographer Minnie Klein from the Arkham Adviser have arrived. They speak with Patrolman Tommy Muldoon, a new recruit, who inadvertently reveals that the discovered corpse is not the first victim, but the sixth. As Murphy and Klein prepare to leave, they notice a mysterious man observing them from a distance and taking notes.
