Swedish/Lesson 5

Swedish School starts when children are seven years old to fifteen years old. If they want to they can choose to go to high school, if they do it they go there from age sixteen years until nineteen years old.

In this time they learn:

  • svenska = Swedish
  • historia = history
  • idrott = PE
  • matematik (formal), matte (casual) = mathematics (maths)
  • NO, Natur Orientering = Physics and other nature sciences (lit. nature orientation)
  • SO, Social Orientering = social knowledge (lit.Social Orientation)
  • engelska = English
  • B-språk = free choice of a third language to learn, optional
  • C-språk = free choice of a fourth language to learn, optional
