Şakir Bezcir (born 1 April 1968) is a Turkish former taekwondo practitioner who competed internationally in the bantamweight (–58 kg) division. He achieved significant success at both the World and European Taekwondo Championships during the late 1980s.[1]
Career
Bezcir first made his mark at the European level by winning the silver medal in the –58 kg category at the 1986 European Taekwondo Championships held in Seefeld, Austria.[1] He continued to rise on the international scene, capturing the silver medal at the 1987 World Taekwondo Championships in Barcelona, Spain, where he competed against some of the world's best bantamweight athletes.[2]
In 1988, Bezcir added a European bronze medal to his record by finishing third at the European Championships held in Ankara, Turkey.[3] These results established him as one of Turkey’s leading taekwondo athletes of his era.
Throughout his career, Şakir Bezcir was recognized for his technical skills and determination on the mat, and he contributed to Turkey's growing reputation in international taekwondo during the 1980s.[4]
