"12 to 12" is a song by American singer-songwriter Sombr. Released on July 24, 2025, through Warner Records and Sombr's own imprint SMB, it was written solely by Sombr, and co-produced by him and Tony Berg. It serves as the fourth single from his upcoming debut studio album I Barely Know Her.[1]
The song mixes '80s-style synth-pop and new wave with hints of funk and blues, highlighted by Sombr's vocals that shift between falsetto and rough growls. It marked Sombr's third entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 95, and his third top ten entry on the Irish Singles Chart.
Composition
"12 to 12" was compared to the work of Tame Impala, embracing the "ripple effect of nostalgia-driven '80s-inspired synth-pop and new wave". The track was described as walking the line between "repurposed funk with fuzzy blues licks" and hints of "bongo hits". Sombr's "shifting" vocals, alternating between a "lustful falsetto" and a "hungry, distorted growl"[2] throughout the track were said to "ooze suave and mischievousness".[3] Sombr sings to a love interest, uncertain whether his feelings are being reciprocated. As the song progresses, he begins to question whether pursuing the relationship was worth it, ultimately doubting his own self-worth.[4]
"12 to 12" is composed in the key of B major with a time signature of 4
4, and has a tempo of 124 beats per minute.[5]
Commercial performance
"12 to 12" became Sombr's fourth and third entries on the Billboard Global 200 and Hot 100, respectively. It debuted at number 130 on the Global 200 for the week ending August 9, 2025, rising to number 91 the following week.[6][7] On the Hot 100, it debuted at number 95 after spending one week on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 at number two.[8][9] In Canada, the song peaked at number 64 in its second week.[10] Additionally, it became his fifth entry on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, reaching number 15.[11]
Internationally, "12 to 12" has reached number eight in Ireland, marking his third top-ten entry in the nation, entered the top 20 in Norway and the United Kingdom,[12][13] and charted within the top 40 in Australia,[14] Lithuania,[15] and New Zealand,[16] among others.
Music video
The accompanying music video, directed by Gus Black, was released on July 24, 2025, and features appearances by American singer Addison Rae.[17] The video opens with Sombr hosting a late-night show before being invited on as a guest, interviewing himself as the host. The camera then pans to Rae, seated in the audience, who begins to dance in a room that shifts between being empty and crowded. Additional scenes show Sombr floating unconscious in a pool.[18]

TOP 20 ir arī divi jaunumi – desmitajā vietā ierindojies mūziķis Endspiel ar skaņdarbu "10" (kas par sakritību!), bet 14. vietā ir sombr ar "12 to 12".
