Buzunesh Gudeta (born 18 April 1997), also known as Buzunesh Getachew Gudeta,[1] is an Ethiopian long-distance runner specializing in the marathon and half marathon. She gained prominence by winning the 2023 Frankfurt Marathon with a personal best time of 2:19:27.
Career
Buzunesh Gudeta began her career in road running events. In March 2019, she achieved her personal best in the 10km road race with a time of 31:43 in Ad-Dawhah.[2]
In February 2022, she set a personal best in the half marathon with a time of 1:09:51 in Ras Al Khaimah.[2]
In October 2023, she secured a victory at the Frankfurt Marathon with a personal best of 2:19:27, marking the second-fastest women's time ever recorded in the history of the event.[3]
