Dar al-Ilm lil-Malayeen

Dar Al-Ilm Lil-Malayin (Arabic: دار العلم للملايين; lit. means: House of Knowledge for Millions) is a private publishing house founded in 1945. It is considered one of the first publishing houses established in the Arab world. Its headquarters is located in Beirut, Lebanon, and it was founded by Professor Munir Al-Baalbaki and Professor Bahij Othman.[1]

Dar Al-Ilm Lil-Malayin owns its own printing press and employs a large staff. It publishes more than four million books annually on a wide range of topics, particularly educational materials. It is also known for producing Arabic-language electronic media, in addition to its important role in combating intellectual piracy.[2]

In 1993, the publishing house established a sister company to import and distribute English books. These books are intended for students from kindergarten through high school.

In 1998, Dar Al-Ilm Lil-Malayin became a major shareholder in a chain of commercial bookstores in a large number of cities across the Arab world.

It includes many books in various fields, including: dictionaries, encyclopedias, cookbooks, business management, linguistic works, textbooks, literature, medical, philosophical and religious books, children's books, and others.
