Giampaolo Pasquile is an Italian record producer, arranger, and mix engineer. He is the founder of the independent label JustPushPlay. His work spans pop, R&B, jazz, and classical, and includes more than 150 releases.[1][2] He has been associated with two Grammy Award nominations, as producer of We All Love Burt Bacharach and as mix engineer for Acoustic Weather.[3] Pasquile has worked with artists including will.i.am, Mike Posner, Tears for Fears, Stewart Copeland, Lil Wayne, Irene Grandi, Gino Paoli, Masego, Peter Erskine, and Bob Mintzer.[4]
Early life and education
Pasquile studied piano and music theory in Italy. He attended the CPM Music Institute in Milan, where his instructors included Massimo Colombo and Roberto Guarnieri. In 2006, he began working with talent scout Roby Matano, and in 2009 he collaborated with Boris Guertler of SAAR Records on the reissue of several albums from the Jolly catalogue.[1] From 2012 to 2015, he attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, focusing on mixing and mastering, and undertook additional training with engineer Tony Maserati in France and Los Angeles.
Career
During the late 2000s, Pasquile co-led projects to reissue works by Mina, Adriano Celentano, and Dalida through SAAR Records.[2] He later established the label JustPushPlay, producing recordings across various genres.
In 2024, Pasquile contributed to the single Fiera di me by Irene Grandi, which was reported by Radio Bruno Brescia[5] and Spettakolo.[6]
In 2025, Pasquile released the album The Fake Truth, which incorporated AI-assisted production techniques. Coverage appeared in outlets such as Rotate Magazine,[7] Divine Magazine,[8] Earmilk,[9] Music News,[10] and Flex Music Blog.[11]
AI-generated music
In a 2025 interview with Le Monde, Pasquile commented on the presence of AI-generated music on streaming platforms, noting its potential effect on works recorded by live musicians.[4] That year, he began releasing material under the name The Smoothies, a project combining AI-generated elements with live instrumentation.[4] He has also issued AI-assisted music under the pseudonyms Paul Martini and Heikala Martini.
