Irene Fellin
Irene Fellin is an Italian national who currently serves as the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security.[1][2]
Biography
Fellin studied Conservation of Cultural Heritage in Parma, Italy and Museology at the Louvre in Paris, France.[3] She received her master's degree from the Middle East Technical University.[4]
Fellin was a senior researcher at the at the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) where she focused on gender and security policy issues.[5] In 2016, Fellin founded the Italian chapter of Women in International Security.[6]
Fellin was named NATO Special Representative for Women, Peace, and Security in November 2021.[6] Fellin's tenure as Special Represented has included special attention to women in combat following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.[7][8][9]
