Jambiani is a group of villages on the Tanzanian island of Unguja, part of Zanzibar. It is located on the southeast coast between Paje and Makunduchi.
Economics
the population was estimated at 7,000 people during the 2012 Census. of these somewhere between 900 and 1,000 work in the Agricultural Industry and 1,350 to 1,500 work in the fishing industry. seaweed farming used to be a large portion of the economy employing nearly 400 people now the industry has declined to just roughly 50 people mostly women.[1]

While some what low in population the area is popular with tourist including several popular sites[2]
