La Culture physique

La Culture physique (Physical Culture) was a fortnightly physique magazine published in Paris from 1904 to 1914, 1925 to September 1943 and December 1946 to 1967 by Albert Surier[a] and Edmond Desbonnet, along with a brief period combined with La Santé par les Sports in 1920. It promoted bodybuilding and the benefits of physical activity for all.[1].
After 1914 it absorbed the reviews La Beauté par la santé, La Santé par la beauté, Santé-beauté and L'Athlète, taking on the numbering system of L'Athlète.[1] It photographed photographs of French and foreign strongmen, bodybuilders, wrestlers and sportsmen such as Siegmund Klein, Hippolyte Triat, Constant Lavaux, Hans Steyrer, Étienne Morillon and Alexandre Maspoli.
