Najeeba Arif
Najeeba Arif is a Pakistani academic, Urdu scholar, poet, researcher, author and translator.[1][2][3][4] She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL), becoming the first woman to hold the post.[1][2][5][4] She is a professor of literature and has made significant contributions to Urdu poetry. Dr. Professor Najeeba Arif has published numerous research articles and books in Urdu literature.[5]She has discovered, edited and published about a dozen manuscripts of eighteenth and nineteenth century.[4]She also founded the first Indexation Agency for the Urdu Research Journals at International Islamic University, Islamabad.[4]
