Poppy Chancellor

Poppy Chancellor (4 June 1987 – 29 September 2023) was a British artist known for her work in papercutting. She collaborated with various organizations and participated in cultural events.[1]In 2016, she published Cut It Out!, a book on papercut art.[2]

Chancellor also founded Grief Case, a bereavement support group, and co-launched the Dead Parent Club podcast.[1]

Early and personal life

Born in West London to actress Anna Chancellor and poet Jock Scot, Chancellor was raised in a bohemian environment. Her early artistic tendencies were evident in childhood, nurtured by her family's unconventional lifestyle.[1] Chancellor studied illustration at Kingston University and furthered her education at the Royal Drawing School.

Her personal life was marked by health challenges, including lupus and acute myeloid leukemia. Chancellor died on 29 September 2023 at the age of 36. She is survived by her husband Jonny Mckenzie-Wynne, her mother, and her half-sisters Tara Scott and Iris Montgomery.[1][3]
