Revolutionary Workers (United States)
The Revolutionary Workers Party is a political party founded in 2025 by former Socialist City Councilwoman Kshama Sawant. The party was formed after Sawant and fellow Socialist Alternative members left the Trotskyist Political Party, Socialist Alternative. In their explanation for leaving the party, the members clarify the rift was not out of malice or hostility towards Socialist Alternative, but highlight a disagreement with Socialist Alternative's "pessimistic assessment of the current period".[1] This party is also building off of the "momentum" of the Abandon Harris Movement, the Jill Stein 2024 Presidential Campaign, and Sawant's organization Worker's Strike Back.[2][3]
