Stare Kawkowo [ˈstarɛ kafˈkɔvɔ] (German: Alt Kockendorf) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Jonkowo, within Olsztyn County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 10 km (6 mi) north-west of Jonkowo and 23 km (14 mi) north-west of the regional capital Olsztyn.
The suffix -dorf of the former German name is typical for settlements founded by Germans during Medieval Ostsiedlung.[2]
