Mediterranean Games appearances (overview)

Turkey participated in the 1955 Mediterranean Games held in Barcelona, Spain, from 16 to 25 July 1955, with a delegation of 40 male athletes. Turkey won a total of 14 medals, including 8 gold, and finished fifth in the overall medal table.

Turkish athletes competed in athletics, basketball, fencing, wrestling, and rowing at the Games.[1] In Greco-Roman wrestling, which was the only wrestling style contested, Turkey entered eight wrestlers and claimed six gold and one bronze medal, finishing first in the team standings in this discipline.[2]
