Arthur Drews

Christian Heinrich Arthur Drews (German: [dʁɛfs]; 1 November 1865 – 15 July 1935) was a German writer, historian, philosopher, and important representative of German monist thought. He was born in Uetersen, Holstein, in present-day Germany.

• To bind up religion with history, as modern theologians do, and to represent an historical religion as the need of modern man, is no proof of insight, but of a determination to persuade oneself to recognise the Christian religion alone.
