Dialogue

Marnie: [sorting through the presents Aggie brought them] Hieroglyphics!
Gwen: [to Aggie] Mother!
Marnie: You know, these look like the ones from the Egyptian book of the dead!

Gwen: I'm just trying to protect you.
Marnie: Yeah, you're protecting us from being anything but a bunch of vegetables. [sits down] Hey look! I'm a potato, are you happy now? Maybe I'll put down some roots in the carpet [mockingly] Oh no Marie, it's too dangerous! There're things about vegetables that YOU don't understand.

[Marnie goes downstairs]

Aggie: If Marnie’s training doesn’t go too well, her powers will be lost forever.
Gwen: YES! And she’ll finally be human! She’ll be like her father, she’ll be like her brother, & Sophie will be after her.
Aggie: Didn’t you know that being normal is very underrated.

[Marnie watches from afar]

Aggie: Wouldn’t it be easy if you had to raise children who have no powers at all? I mean look at you with your plastic bowls. Well, you know leftover chicken looks better when it’s back to the bone.

[Aggie uses her magic to turn the leftover chicken into an actual chicken] [chicken clucking] [Gwen gets shocked to see the scene]

Gwen: Mother! Get that thing out of there right now!

[Aggie uses her magic to turn the chicken back to the way it was before]

Gwen: For years you’ve been coming here, you’ve been dropping hints to Marnie, and you’ve been badgering me to start her training. I know that’s why you came, mother. But, the fight is over, you know that. The clock has finally run out and you can just go home.
Aggie: Well, as much as I’d like to think you’re making a mistake about Marnie, you’re wrong about why I came tonight. The truth is I came to ask for your help.
Gwen: My help? With what?
Aggie: Well, something’s happening back at home. Something’s changed. And everyday, I find another neighbor has disappeared or two I think. It’s almost as if more than another just keeps on not coming back.
Gwen: Oh, mother, please, my neighbors disappeared too. It’s called moving.
Aggie: Oh, Gwendolyn! I’m serious about this! It’s almost as if someone is trying to return as back to the dark times. And I’m afraid that my powers won’t be strong enough to stop it. Truth is, I need another Cromwell witch. I need you.
Gwen: Mother, there were plenty of witches and warlocks back at Halloweentown. Why don’t you recruit one of them?
Aggie: Oh, I tried. You know how they are these days, they just don’t want to get involved.
Gwen: Mother, I’m sure there is something else that you could do. But, I can’t leave my kids fighting this nameless force in another dimension if I had nothing to do.
Aggie: Nothing to do with? Hmm. Well, fine then, bury your neck in the sand of this mortal land of yours. Perhaps the Cromwell heir would end with you. Let’s just hope that Halloweentown doesn’t come to an end along with it.

[Marnie goes back upstairs)

Gwen: You're not a witch.
Marnie: Oh, yes, I am, no thanks to you. You were going to let my powers go away forever.

Dylan: Why are you so obsessed with Halloween? I mean, it's just like Mom says: It gives little kids dumb ideas about there being magic. Like that helps them prepare for life. Personally, give me a good nature documentary any day.
Marnie: [sarcastically] Halloween is cool, nature boy. I mean, it's exciting, strange and ancient. Plus, Mom and Dad met on Halloween.
Dylan: Shh! What are you trying to do? You know how talking about Dad always bums Mom out, I mean, why can't you pick some other holiday to get hung up on, like Arbor Day? Trees are important too, you know.

Marnie: Hey, look, a pentagram! Lon Chaney had one of these on his palm when he got bitten by that werewolf.
Aggie: So he did, I've always said the movies can teach us about life.

Luke: Maybe we could go out for an ice cream. I know my way around town. I'm kinda like the big cheese here.
Marnie: I was hungry, but then I smelled something stinky... it must have been the Big Cheese!

Gwen: You can't go out tonight.
Marnie: Why?
Gwen: I have my reasons and I will explain them to you when you're taller.
Marnie: Mom, you've been saying that for like my whole life. It's just one night, what's the big deal?

Marnie: I'm getting that deja vu feeling again!
Dylan: You knew I was going to put on my shoe?
Marnie: No!

Marnie: Grandma, it was Kalabar.
Gwen: What?
[On the stairs leading to the City Hall, Kalabar stands up and stares at the Cromwells]
Aggie: [angrily points at him] So it was you?!
Gwen: [gently pushes Sophie aside] Why, Kalabar?
Kalabar: You could've had me, the most powerful warlock of all. And you could've ruled with me as my queen, but you chose a human instead!
Marnie: Well, it turns out she was a pretty good judge of character.
Aggie: Your days of rule are at an end, Kalabar.
Kalabar: [waves a finger] Don't underestimate me, Agatha. Ha! [summons the talisman from inside the statue and catches it as he laughs maniacally] Now my darkness will spread unchecked, and I'll be the ruler of both worlds! [laughs maniacally again as Aggie pulls out her wand and chants a spell to the talisman, followed by Gwen who holds her hand] Don't waste your energies, witches! Your precious talisman is nothing more…
Dylan: [glares at Kalabar] Man, that jerk! I'd like to… I'd like to…
Marnie: [looks down to see blue light glowing from her brother's fingers as Kalabar laughs offscreen] Dylan!
Dylan: What?
Marnie: It looks like we've added another witch to the family. Or should I say warlock.
Kalabar: …like a dark shadow…
Dylan: [looks at his glowing fingers] No way! I don't have any powers, I'm a normal one in the family.
Marnie: [looks at Kalabar] Hey, Chocolate Bar! You better give that talisman back or you're in big trouble!
Kalabar: You half-human brat! Do you think your magic is any match for mine?
Marnie: Hmm, no. But let's see my powers, and my mom's, my grandmother's, my sister's, and my brother's might do it. Hit it, guys.
[Holding their hands, the Cromwells, except Dylan, close their eyes and hum. Kalabar laughs when he sees nothing happening to the talisman still in his hands]
Kalabar: Silly witches, you Cromwells have failed!
Marnie: [opens her eyes to Dylan, whispering] Come on, Dylan, we need you. Believe.
[Sophie opens her hand for Dylan, who takes it. They continue to hum as light shines brightly from the orb on the talisman in Kalabar's hands]
Kalabar: No! No! [The orb's light glows more] No!!!!! [The light engulfs him, and as he disappears, the talisman flies back into Aggie's hand]
Aggie: Oh! The talisman!
[The citizens cheer and the Cromwell kids jump in celebration]
