- Holotype: UMMZ 89073, ♂, collected by L.C. Stuart on 21 April 1938.
- Type locality: “Cloud forest above Finca Samac, 7 km. west of Cobán, Alta Verapaz, Guatemala. Altitude, about 1500 m”.
