Typus: "Cr." s.n. (in flower).
- Note: K herbarium holds Crueper 1045 (K000174003^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}), with 'Maraccas Waterfall' but lacking type annotation. Steyermark (1967) claims NY herbarium holds an isotype collected in the same locality on 10 November 1845 but lacking collector indication (cf. NY00130851^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}, 'isotype', as J.H. Hart 678, seen by Steyermark in 1964).
Type locality: [Trinidad and Tobago.] Trinidad: Maraccas waterfall.
