Type locality: Panama, Panamá Oeste, Rio Trinidad ("Canal Zone, Trinidad River").

Typus: Holotype Female ♀, USNM-16031, legit Busck, VI.1913.

  • Araeopterella miscidisce Dyar, 1914: 189. Original combination [also earlier in contents V plus later in index 732]; Nye, 1975:56 (=Catalog listing under as Acontiinae, but same for Araeopteron for which Dyar indicates close affinity)

(Note: There is indication of generic synonymy of Araeopterella Dyar, 1914 under Araeopteron Hampson, 1893 in Fibiger & Hacker, 2008: 41 (but not stated as new). As Araeopterella miscidisce is type species of Araeopterella Dyar, 1914 then recombination is implicit, but no stated recombination, nor inclusion in their subsequent species list).
