- 'Holotype: DZUP 440, adult ♂, collected by M.R. Pie and L.F. Ribeiro on 29 October 2012.
- Type locality: “Morro do Cachorro (26°46′42″S, 49°01′57″W; 795 m a.s.l.), on the border between the municipalities of Blumenau, Gaspar, and Luiz Alves, state of Santa Catarina, southern Brazil”.
- Etymology: The specific epithet is a homage to the Fundação Grupo Boticário de Proteção à Natureza, which not only partially funded the fieldwork of this study, but also is a major contributor to conservation research in Brazil.
