Ephedra likiangensis Florin, Kungl. Svenska Vetenskapsakad. Handl., ser. 3, 12(1): 33 (1933).

Type locality: CHINA. Prov. Yünnan: Saba, östlicher Abhang der Likiang Schnee-Gebirgeskette, Wasserscheide des Jang-tze-kiang [= Saba, eastern side of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Lijiang, drainage divide of Yangtze].
Syntypes: J.F. Rock 10824 (1923–1924, female; A 00348130^{(GBIF, JSTOR)} [determined as 'isotype' of E. likiangensis f. mairei (Florin) L.K.Fu & Y.F.Yu by A.R. Brach in May 2012], US [US00012119 (1332292)^{(GBIF, JSTOR)}, 'Possible holotype']; Isosyntype: S-C-290^{(GBIF, JSTOR)} [fragment and photograph]).
