- Typus: L.C. Leach & I.C. Cannell 13926 (in flower and fruit, various dates, 1969; Holotypus: LISC [LISC011564(GBIF, JSTOR), '21. VIII. 1967']).
- Type locality: Angola. Benguella District: ± 48 km NE of Lobito, woodland savanna; cult. Nelspruit.
