Type locality: Punta Salchii, Puerto Angel, Oaxaca, Mexico, 15°40'N, 96°21'W.
Etymology: The specific name unami refers to the acronym of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), in recognition of the vital role it plays in the education of the Mexican people.
