- Holotype: BMNH 2005.1662, ♂, collected by S. Carranza, E.N. Arnold and D. Donaire in October 2005.
- Type locality: “Tawi Atair, 610 m elevation, Dhofar region (South Oman), 17.11639’N 54.54861’E”.
- Etymology: named after Ali bin Amer Al Kiyumi, Director General of Nature Conservation of the Sultanate of Oman.
