- Holotype: BMNH 2008.714, ♂, collected by S. Carranza, E. Gómez-Díaz and F. Amat in May 2011.
- Type locality: “Wadi Bani Khalid, 647 m, Eastern Hajar (North Oman), 22.61609′N 59.09371′E WGS84”.
- Etymology: The name is an adjective that refers to the mountain range where the species is found, the Hajar Mountains.
