Type locality: New Zealand, Kermadec Islands. ["Kermadecs" = can equate to Raoul Island]

Typus: Holotype, Female ♀, BMNH. Original work says "one specimen; 1 other taken"

• Polychrosis meliscia Meyrick, 1910: 72. (Original combination). Note, repeated in simple listing as Polychrosis meliscia Meyrick, 1910; then later in regional family catalog Dugdale, 1988; again in the "New Zealand Inventory of Biodiversity".
• Lobesia meliscia (Meyrick, 1910); (Implicit recombination), after e.g. Hodges, 1983: 31, where Polychrosis presented as a junior synonym under Lobesia.
