- Holotype: FMNH 195079, adult ♂, body in alcohol with skull removed, collected by Jay L. Udelhoven on 22 August 1993.
- Type locality: “Mumushwizi River Valley (3°56'20"S, 29°35'49"E) at 1880 m, Bururi Forest Reserve, Bururi Province, Burundi”.
