Holotype: MNHNP 5160, adult ♂, collected by P. Freed and J. Furman on 21 February 1995.
Type locality: “3 km S of Filadelfia, 22º22’45’’S, 60º01’48’’0W (all datum 5WGS84), 138 m above sea level (asl), Boquerón Department, Paraguay”.
