- Lectotype: BMNH 1946.1.20.41, ♂, presented by Edward, 13th Earl of Derby. [designated by Wells & Wellington (1985: 48)]
- Type locality: “N.W. Australia” and “Port Essington”, restricted by lectotype designation to “Port Essington” by Wells & Wellington (1985: 48).
