Name

Psychotria mariniana (Cham. & Schltdl.) Fosberg, Occas. Pap. Bernice Pauahi Bishop Mus. 23: 43 (1962)

  • Type: L.K.A. von Chamisso s.n. (28 November to 14 December[probably 8–9 December fide Berger 2018] 1816; holotype: LE, not located fide Sohmer 1977: 143; lectotype: W-Endlicher 0066414); G.W. Russ s.n. (1 June 1933; epitype: BISH-BISH1010995).
    • Note: the epitype was first designated as neotype by Sohmer (1977: 143, fig. 36) due to absence of any original materials. Later, duplicate in W turned out to be an original material and was lectotypified by Berger (2018) and then the neotype was made epitype for maintaining nomenclatural stability and supporting the fragmentary lectotype.
  • Type locality: USA. Hawaii: Oahu.
    • Chamisso: In nemorosis montium[Southern Koolau Range, < 730 m alt. fide Berger (2018)].
    • Epitype: Kaeleku, west branch near trail.
