Sminthopsis virginiae virginiae (de Tarragon, 1847)

  • Holotype: lost.
  • Neotype: QM J15890, adult ♂, body in alcohol with skull removed, collector and date unknown. [designated by Archer (1981: 136)]
  • Type locality: not given, redesigned by neotype designation to “Herbert Vale (on the Herbert River, approximate lat. 18°30', long. 145°50'), northeastern Queensland, elevation 42.6 m. above sea level” by Archer (1981: 136)
