- Holotype: AMNH 93237, adult ♂, collected by C.M. Bogert on 11 October 1964.
- Type locality: “Mexico, Oaxaca, El Tejocote, 2377 m elevation”.
- Etymology: Named after Charles Mitchill Bogert.
