- Lectotype: BMNH 1946.1.23.66, ♀, obtained by the Zoological Society. [designated by Günther (1894: 139)]
- Type locality: “Central America”.
- Paralectotypes (n=2): BMNH 1946.1.23.65, same data as the lectotype; and BMNH 1946.1.6.51, from “Mexico”, donated by Hugo Finck.
