1. a low cut sock

2. the sole of a sock

   Sokkaleistarnir mínir voru orðnir gegnblautir. ― The soles of my socks had become wet.

   Kulda frá gólfinu lagði í gegnum sokkaleistana. ― The cold temperature of the floor made its way through the soles of my socks.

3. (in the phrase "á sokkaleistunum") to be shoeless (to be wearing socks but not shoes, often in a situation where shoes would be expected such as outside)

   Hann hljóp út á sokkaleistunum. ― He ran out of the house without putting shoes on.

   Þingmaðurinn var á sokkaleistunum í þingsal. ― The member of parliament wasn't wearing shoes in the parliament hall.

   Ég er 175 cm á hæð á sokkaleistunum. ― I am 175 cm tall (measured while wearing my socks).

Only the last meaning ("á sokkaleistunum") is common in modern Icelandic; the first two meanings are sufficiently rare that many speakers are not familiar with them.
