Etymology
From Proto-Polynesian *kuli (compare with Samoan ulī, Tongan kulī, Tuamotuan kurio and kuri, Hawaiian ʻīlio)[1] from Proto-Oceanic *kuli (compare with Fijian koli[1]). Doublet of ʻurī.
