The adjective άγιος with uppercase first letter, for names of churches, places, and official use. Lowercase is used for referring to a Saint.^[1]

Notes: • The feminine plural Αγίες is a frequently used form, since the 17th century, probably under the influence of the ancient accusative plural τὰς ἁγίας.
• The comparative αγιότερος is not used in religious titles. The superlative Αγιότατος is usually found in compounds (Παναγιότατος).
