Etymology
Learned borrowing from Koine Greek, literally, "Second, of things omitted". See Β΄ (“beta, second”) & genitive of the expression in plural: τὰ (tà) παραλειπόμενα (paraleipómena, “the omitted”), that is, events omitted from the Books of Kings, title of the Books of Chronicles. As in the passive present participle παραλειπόμενος (paraleipómenos) of verb παραλείπω (paraleípō, “omit”).
