Learned borrowing from Ancient Greek διαστρεβλῶ (diastreblô) / διαστρεβλόω (diastreblóō, to twist tight), with -ώνω (-óno) suffix.[1] By surface analysis, δια- (dia-) +‎ στρεβλώνω (strevlóno).
