ραντίτσιο
Greek
Alternative forms
- ραντίκιο (rantíkio) (less common)
Etymology
Neologism. Italian radicchio, with Italian /k/ ⟨ch⟩ mistakenly read as /tʃ/ and hence adapted into Greek as /ts/ (cf. κοντσέρτο < concerto). The much rarer variant ραντίκιο (rantíkio) reflects the Italian pronunciation. Doublet of ραδίκι (radíki).
