From ψευδ- (psevd-, “pseudo-”) +‎ αίσθηση (aísthisi, “feeling”), on the model of παραίσθηση (paraísthisi).[1] First attested as Katharevousa ψευδαίσθησις (psevdaísthisis) in 1888.[2]
