ψύθος
Ancient Greek
Alternative forms
- ψύδος (psúdos)
Etymology
Related to ψυδρός (psudrós, “false”) and ψεύδομαι (pseúdomai, “to lie; to be mistaken, false”), and thus probably of Pre-Greek origin, in view of the interchange δ/θ.[1]
