Etymology

From *aldïnqï (front, located in the front) (see the cognates below), from *aldïn (in/from the front; before, ahead of time; first) (see the cognates below), from Proto-Turkic *āl- (front).

Compare to Bashkir алдынғы (aldınğı), Uzbek oldingi (front, foremost; distinguished, outstanding), Uyghur ئالدىنقى (aldinqi, front, anterior, foremost); Uzbek oldin (before, in front, ahead of time), Uyghur ئالدىن (aldin, before, in front, ahead of time).
