банна
Ket
Etymology
Inherited from Proto-Yeniseian *xʷin-gakʷ (“sleeve”, literally “double-opening”), with the second part partially dropped later by reanalysis. Cognate with Yug бенгоу (bɛ́ngou), where the original compound survives and Kott haipen, where the Kott speakers added *qaxʷ (“fur”) and dropped the *gakʷ, similar to Ket.
