постанова

Russian

Pronunciation

  • IPA(key): [pəstɐˈnovə]

Noun

постано́ва • (postanóvaf inan (genitive постано́вы, nominative plural постано́вы, genitive plural постано́в)

  1. (slang) a video that a person watched on the Internet turned out to be staged and involved actors posing as real participants in the events, that is, in fact, they were paid money and given some text that they had to pronounce on camera

Usage notes

This word has a negative connotation due to the fake nature of videos which are believed to be staged. Unlike the word постано́ва in Ukrainian, which means "resolution", in Russian this same spelled word is considered slang.
