Inherited from Old Ruthenian скрывати (skryvati),[1] from Old East Slavic съкрывати (sŭkryvati)/съкрꙑвати (sŭkryvati).[2][3] By surface analysis, скри́ти (skrýty) +‎ -ва́ти (-váty). Compare Russian скрыва́ть (skryvátʹ), Belarusian скрыва́ць (skryvácʹ), Polish skrywać.
