Deverbal from уцяка́ць (ucjakácʹ, “to escape, to flee”), itself derived from цячы́ (cjačý, “to flow, to run, to move”). Compare related Polish ucieczka (“escape”), Russian уте́чка (utéčka, “leakage”), which see also уце́чка (ucjéčka).
