цеснок
Pannonian Rusyn
Etymology
Inherited from Old Slovak cesnak, cesnok, from Proto-Slavic *česnъkъ. Cognates include Slovak cesnak. Deletion of -н- (-n-) in oblique cases is due to re-analysis as being suffixed by -ок (-ok) (thus цеснк- (cesnk-) → цеск- (cesk-)), which compare also Polish czosnek, genitive singular czosnku.
